Every entrepreneur needs a good dose of motivation at times, not all of our work can come from will power alone.

For me the best way to motivate is to either to listen to a podcast or to watch a great movie. It doesn’t even have to be related to anything business as it just has to be about the triumphs of the human spirit.

The Founder

The founder starring Michael Keaton

This one should be known to most business people as it is about the founding of McDonald’s and the growth of the company fueled by Ray Kroc.

Ray as portrayed in this film is quite an awful person but the business message still stands in this and is very inspiring for struggling entrepreneurs especially, to give them hope.

The Social Network

The Social Network is definetely the most obvious on this list but it simply has to be put in here.

A masterful movie in which Mark Zuckerberg and the founding team of Facebook make the company into what it is today, done from the point of view of the lawsuits that soon followed.

The rocketship level ascent of Facebook is inspiring to all but of course to those who are looking to get into tech especially.

The Imitation Game

Not a business movie but inspiring nonetheless. The changing of the world is just as inspiring to change the business world as a business movie can ever be.

In this movie, Alan Turing and his team work to break the Enigma code in World War II and in doing so Alan Turing invents what would later become the modern day computer.

It is a story of overcoming obstacles and achieving what no one thought could be done, because of this it is one of my favourite movies ever and a very inspiring one for those who want to make a difference.

Pursuit of Happyness

Will and young Jaden smith do such an incredible job in this movie and the story is nothing short of heart wrenching.

Will’s character is forced to fight for his life and the life of his child as they are on the verge of bankruptcy. During this time Chris Gardner (Will Smith) is trying to fight his way into becoming a stock broker while jumping from homeless shelter to homeless shelter.

If you ever feel like you’re struggling in business, just watch this movie and put yourself in his shoes. Overcoming was Chris Gardners specialty and this is something to keep life in perspective, while also inspiring you to take action.
